报告人：Prof. Andy Gibson（英国曼彻斯特城市大学副校长）
报告人简介： Professor Andy Gibson was appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Science and Engineering in February 2017.Professor Gibson has a Doctor of Science in microwave engineering and technology and 25 years’ research expertise in high power circuits for radar systems. Prior to his post as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Science and Engineering, Andy was first Head of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and then Head of the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at the University of Manchester. He was also responsible for Tyndall Manchester, a Rolls-Royce Technology Centre, a Project Management Professional Development Group and the EdF Modelling and Simulation Centre. Professor Gibson gained international recognition for the application of multi physics finite element techniques to high power, non-linear, non-reciprocal ferrite components and his research interests include remanufacturing as applied to electrical and electronic equipment. More recently, he published research on electronic waste with Manchester Business School and chaired a major international conference in microwave technology in London. He is extremely passionate about science and engineering, particularly in the city of Manchester, and is very excited about building our world-class partnerships, excellence in education, scholarship and research across the breadth of STEM disciplines.
